This is a fun icebreaker to get the synapses firing and energy levels soaring.

Get a rubber chicken (it can make noise or no noise). Make cards with topics on them ahead of time.

Ideas of topics include:
song titles, school lunch food, kinds of cars, tickets cops can give, things that are sharp, things you find on a pizza, state capitals, cities in (state you live in), teachers at this school, fairy tale characters, celebrities, lakes, kinds of chips, kinds of pop, fast food restaurants, make farm animal sounds, countries in Europe, cereals, flowers, things you find in the jungle, kinds of fruits, road signs, board games, to give you a few ideas to start with.

Sit in a circle on the floor. Give the chicken to the person that is IT first. Read a title with a number you give to it (for example, name 4 song titles, name 6 tickets cops give, name 6 teachers in this school, make 4 farm animal sounds, and so on). You can roll the dice to decide the number or just make it up.

Once IT starts this task, they pass it to their right. The chicken gets passed quickly (no throwing!) as the person that's IT goes through and completes the task. Wherever the chicken ends up when IT is done with the task, that person is the new IT.

Quick and fun.

You can use class concepts with this game too, for example...name 4 rivers in the US or name 5 books by Dr. Seuss or spell cheeseburger...

This is a fun and versatile game that forces you to buy a chicken...you'll use it later! Trust me!
