Bracelet Memories Icebreaker
by Melanie Dewey

I work for a non-profit that works closely with low-income families. Each year, we have a large meeting with new parents.
This year, our icebreaker consisted of each parent being given a slip of colored paper marked off in 4 sections. Each section had a description: favorite memory with your child, child's favorite toy or book, dream or hope for your child, one thing you have learned from your child, etc.
The parents wrote something in each section, then taped it around their wrist to make a bracelet. Each parent then shared one thing from the bracelet with the group. We had parents laughing, crying, and everything in between.
It was a very meaningful and fun way to get to know each other.
