A Song for You - Creative Icebreaker

by Gunjan Sahay
(Pune, India)

Divide the group into pairs and give them some time to get to know each other (meaning of name, nature, peculiar habits, characteristics, favourite things, etc.)

Each group member then takes that knowledge learned about their partner to compose a song (funny ones are better). The two partners can pair up for the composition, but the person who is the subject of the song cannot override any lyrics written for them.

To help out the groups, you might have them compose words to go along with a well-known tune, like the national anthem or a childhood song. More adventurous participants can make up their own melody.
